Connecticut has an anaerobic digestion facility opening soon!
Did you know that Connecticut has an anaerobic digestion facility that is slated to go online in May? You are probably asking what anaerobic digestion is.
Well it’s a biological process where microorganisms break down biodegradable material without using oxygen. The biodegradable material that we are speaking about is food waste. It could be your left overs from the night before, rotting fruits and vegetables as well as many other items. The end result creates bio-gases that are then combusted to produce energy. Also, the left over food material in then turned into compost that could be used in your local flower beds.
It’s great to see new companies and technology coming along every day to help keep our environment cleaner.
