Tips to Reduce your Carbon Footprint

In the last few years, we’ve made a huge push to reduce our carbon footprint by switching the majority of our fleet to run on Connecticut Natural Gas. We are always working toward a cleaner tomorrow, and you can, too!

Check out some tips on how you can reduce your carbon footprint, too!

  • Buy in bulk and take less trips to the store. Not only does this mean you’re using your vehicle less, it also means less packaging is going into the trash.
  • Compost! We’ve heard people ask why they have to compost if the food will just breakdown in a landfill—it actually won’t! Trapping compostable materials in plastic bags actually creates dangerous greenhouse gas emissions. So, put less in your bin, more in the compost.
  • Don’t just throw it out. We all love the feeling of a good declutter, but tossing everything into the trash just clutters up the earth! Instead, make a donation pile for anything still in good shape. Bring it to a donation center or local non-profit organizations.
  • Skip the paper and plastic. Use real dishes and silverware for your daily use. If you’re entertaining, consider renting or buying additional place settings from a thrift shop.

Together, we can make a difference!
